Fall squash are an excellent source of many vitamins for our birds, raw
or cooked. You could bake pumpkin seeds or wash them and give
them raw. Include any meat you cut away from carving your designs.
They can also be given cooked. or raw. Share your zucchini breads,
pumpkin breads, or banana breads and while your preparing-them for
baking, make a few for you feathered companions by adding some of
their pellets or seeds to the mix. Use the mini cupcake pan for small
ones and freeze them until you're ready for give them out. What a
wonderful treat for them!

Whether enjoying the cider mills, corn mazes, hay rides or Halloween
have a safe and fun time to all of you participating in the seasons
activities.

5 meetings in the current year and worked at least one of the Expos

Informational Items:

Fall is in full swing and our fall Expo was a success! As the leaves
change, so does the behavior in some of our birds as they prepare for
breeding season. Whether you're a breeder or a novice owner like
myself, watch out for those flashing eyes and fanned tail feathers. Be
careful how you pet and scritch as you may unknowingly attract them
to yourself as a potential mating partner and they may bite family
members or friends in an effort to try to deter them from receiving any
of your affections. Avoid petting on the back and around the tail area.

We had a good turnout for the Expo from the public and most of the
vendors reported a good day for them as well! We are aware that
there were unweaned baby birds sold at the Expo. We want everyone
to know that the vendor has been given a written warning from the club
and should it happen again further action will be taken by the club
according to our signed vendor agreements. This is not how we
want to treat an unsuspecting public or most importantly the
unsuspecting baby that is in our care.
